| the Church of Scotland General Assembly... |
Whether you are a part of the church or not, you've probably been aware of various decisions made (or in some cases not made) during the GA... The News and papers have certainly reported enough about it (and not always correctly)... Typical media huh?
But yeh. I'm not going to comment on the GA. But its taken up a lot of my time watching it on its live web stream, following the debates and following it on Twitter. If nothing its nice to know that the church is moving forward in its use of technology. LOL. But it has been interesting to be able to see what happens and how things work and hear the various reports that were given. =)
That aside, at my church, we arrived the other week to find that the church now has a big screen and fixed projector in the Sanctuary *grins* and also a new fixed projector in the smaller hall *grins* - wonderful huh??? Certainly makes my life a lot easier not having to faff around with portable screens and projectors all of the time, and more importantly means that there's no possibility of children tripping over cables or knocking a projector etc (something which i was always wary of). Exciting times *grins*
But work is winding down a bit now which is nice =) means i'm not running around like a headless chicken all of the time. I even had a whole day off on monday for the bank holiday - was wonderful. Did very little *grins*.
So aye. In conclusion, techology when used well is wonderful, days off are wonderful, and the GA, well the less said about that the better. heh.Labels: church, Church of Scotland, day off, General Assembly |

| and all that jazz... |
So much to say... so little time to say it...
Abbie is wonderful. lol. She came to work with me on Thursday and had a great time with the young people. They were out doing a photo scavanger hunt, so she went out with one of the groups. To say that she was tired when we got back doesn't even come close! *lol* Needless to say... she was flaked out on the cushion before long *heheh* She's been doing really well actually... working into my sleep pattern very well!!! *hehe* Hasn't made a peep until almost 9am in the last two days *grins*
But yeh... I ache all over. *meh* Was at a fundraiser ceilidh last night... it was good, but i'm suffering for it today. Well more than usual anyways. I'm actually currently procrastinating from doing prep for tomorrow which i really should be doing... i now have some ideas... but i need time for them to mull around my head before i do anything further. Someone else is speaking at bible class, although I know that they won't do the whole session, so have no idea how long i will need to fill. I'm thinking i'm gonna do something brief on the importance of our bibles and actually using them etc though... we'll see. Also got stuff to do for tomorrow night, but thats probably best left until tomorrow afternoon anyways. We're having a discussion with the discipleship group on what the church is... we've invited edlers too... should be interesting. Really need wisdom in how to guide it though... so prayer wouls muchly be appreciated.
hmmmm. Man i'm tired. Am out again tonight though. This time its thanksgiving and i'm taking a couple of the yp with me... *heheh* hopefully it'll be good. There's been a lot of unrest about bigger impact this year coz the new MC has changed it, which is a shame i admit, although i understand why he's done what he has... just perhaps not the best timing. *hmmm* But anyway, i'm hoping that won't taint what i hope to be a good evening with friends. Need to try and do some baking for that. it'll be timing permitting though. Am going out to tesco soon, and then picking the yp up just after 5 sometime. *heh*
oooo... abbie's trying to get comfy on her bean bag... *hehe* best £26 i ever spent. She loves it.
Oh man... was watching this program on tv this morning... it was called something like 'my sweet 16' or something, and it was basically about all these rich girls who got their parents to fund like $200,000 parties for them and like get 'celebrities' to go to them 'n stuff... one of the girls was like 'yeh it was nothing special, pretty much how i expected' and i'm like 'what?!' some folk are just sooooo unbelieveably self-consumed. but yus... i should go now... am going to tesco soon.Labels: Abbie, church, Impact |

| Working away... or not. |
Sorry for the lack of posts... have been 'busy'... well not really, i've been doing very little... still a bit tired after having a very busy 2 weeks at church. We had our holiday club with the other parish churches in bishopbriggs last week... it was good, but not the greatest of ideas for me to be doing that straight after coming back from a week of mission. Left me rather tired. So i've been relaxing lots... chilling out with Abbie. It's so good to have her back... and reading lots. Trying to get through HP6 again so that i can head into book 7 and get it read before anyone accidentally slips spoilers in my direction. But yes... still got some prep to do for church on Sunday morning, but i reckon i know what i've got to do... so it's all good.
I made a banana cake last night... tis sooooo good *grins* i need to have to learn to make other things I think... oh my, Abbie is barking at me... (well as much as a puppy can bark, it's more of a yap) which probably means she wants up on the couch *heh*

| Rain. |
| silly rain. we've had such nice weather recently... but today the rain has come to be annoying... at least it's not pouring down. Was at the school this morning, and amusingly enough they ended up cancelling the assembly at the last minute again *heh* So i just gave the leaflets to the head of year to distribute... turns out that tomorrows assembly is cancelled too... which means i won't have to get up early - which is a welcome thing coz i was really tired this morning... Am still really tired now actually... got some stuff to be getting on with though, so i should really do that... perhaps i shall write a more interesting update later. Labels: church |

| The land of nodd... |
| That's where Phil still is... sleeping... well deserved long lie i think... I on the other hand have been up and pottering about for a while... Need to sit down and sort stuff out for the weekend I think... Had a sudden *urgh* moment yesterday when i was reminded that I still have a heap of prep for Sunday morning and a heap of prep for Sunday night on top of my remaining prep for the 24 hour event *what joy*... doesn't help that certain volunteers seem to have gone awol, and done nothing for tomorrow, or sunday. *meh*. Well that's just ministry for you. I should go and get on with some work.... Labels: 24 hour event, church |

| Woohoo |
Ok... so it's take like the last hour and a half... but look!!! new blog template... took ages because it had to go through all the html to work out how to change stuff and add in my own links 'n stuff... but i got it all working - eventually *grins* now i just need to figure out how to either get rid of the nav bar at the top or bring the blog title down a bit... perhaps dad will have more of a clue with regards to that *heh*
It's been a busy day, with challenges and all, but a good day too... Am going to the school in the morning to advertise the new group to the first years. Should be interesting *heh* we shall see... i just hope i manage to get up in time! *heh*
toodles...Labels: church, school, template |

| a day off... |
Well yes, a day off, that's the general jist anyway... but you have to understand that in the 'profession' of ministry a day off isn't really a complete day off unless you are away from your minstry area, away from the computer, away from your phone and being consumed by something else instead... i.e. when you're away on holiday - preferably abroad or somewhere where your mobile doesn't have reception *lol*... But the beauty of a day off is that you can do things at your own pace without guilt... get up when you want... do bits and pieces as you please but don't feel the need to finish them or anything - no pressure... no presure to go anywhere or be anywhere at a certain time... so much more relaxing... Well that is me today... i have been doing a couple of work-related bits and pieces, but no pressure so it's all good... just me, and the tv - create and craft was on the ideal world channel all morning - was LOVING that *grins*... *loves*
But yes... check out my Clustrmap... another 3 hits in China and one in Germany *grins* and i've broken through the 1000 mark... not back eh!? started it about *thinks* 9 weeks ago... *grins*
I was talking to dad about the whole Jesus tomb thing last night... I'm wondering when and where this supposed documentary will be out or on TV or whatever... i doubt i'd watch it though... the claims seem to be completely unfounded... not least there was an archeologist on the BBC news yesterday morning who was saying that the marks on the side of the tomb just looked like 'scratches' to him, and if anything there was another name there, NOT Jesus *duh* ok... so more or less all of the Theologians and Archeologists in the world are completely rejecting these claims... who thinks that James Cameron is just on a power trip to try and desperately get some publicity for his new documentary that probably would have come and gone with little if any interest had he not been claiming that this was Jesus' families tomb, and more importantly as he seems to be trying to suggest, that Mary Magdalene is also in the tomb and that they (Mary and Jesus) have a child called Judah... Of course all of these names were extrememly popular at the time... but apparently James Cameron is determined he's right *duh* - here's the URL, just in case you're interested... Jesus' Tomb
ah the art of publicity... some people really are good at opening their mouth and letting their belly rumble... when will they learn that doing this publically is just going to embarass them *duh*.Labels: church, clustrMaps, James Cameron, Jesus |

| ooo i've gone international! |
look ---->
it seems that my blog has gone international... somewhere in south east Asia... To start with i thought it may have been a friend in Singapore, but then i was reminded that my detailed knowledge of geography is pathetic... *heh* so yeh.
Ach well...
Church was good this morning... was nice to be back. Really tired though. And my head hurts somewhat... although i think that is probably aggrevated by just being so tired. And no, i wasn't up really late last night xP
Anyway - i'm hungry.Labels: church, clustrMaps, international, locations, tired |
