Facebook is being annoying and I still have a cold. =(
OK today has actually been a rather wonderful and in some ways productive day. However its also had its not so wonderful parts... like for example. I realised after getting up this morning that my right knee was rather sore =( - i dunno what i've done to it... twisted it maybe? but yeh. its not very comfy, actually if i move it or put weight on it at the 'wrong' angle at all it can be pretty sore. It also clicks, which Pamela and I found rather amusing in the car on the way home tonight LOL >.<
So that is inconvenience number one....
number 2... I still have this pesky cold. I honestly thought it was getting better when i didn't cough up as much gunk this morning, especially when i wasn't coughing so much during the day... but no. I ended up coughing my lungs up for most of band tonight. Just as well Pamela was there too, otherwise there would have been no lead, coz i was struggling a lot to sing in order to lead at times.
Number 3... Facebook is being annoying. I'm trying to post stuff and its just not working. this has been a common occurrence of late... its rather annoying. and they expect us to pay for this? (rumour I know, but still) I wouldn't keep using it anyway i don't imagine (if they started charging to use it i mean)... Wouldn't be worth it if the yp weren't on it. I would just have to keep in touch with others by other means...
all of that aside... I have been thinking about Lent... and what i may give up for lent... Apparently Pamela is giving up unnecessary internet use (which today turned out to perhaps be a bad idea, but thats another long story)... I dunno tho... I've certainly considered a few things. Perhaps chocolate again... I've done that before. I dunno tho. And i've kinda stopped with the fizzy drinks and started drinking loads more water again (she says sitting with the remainder of the bottle of diet coke next to her LOL) but yeh, so i've already done that... and I've already more or less conquered the nail biting thing (for how long I don't know, long may it continue)...
Perhaps instead of stopping something, perhaps i should pledge to do something thats gd for me... like eat more fruit 'n veg (as in not just buy it but actually eat it LOL) or listen to worship music in the car instead of the radio (as amusing as Galaxy FM can be...) or read more...
Ach I dunno... I guess I'll have to think about it a bit more... I know i bought a wee booklet on lent last year... i wonder what i did with it...........
alas Facebook as finally done what I wanted it to do 20 minutes ago... Now i will be able to rest at ease LOL...
I have a meeting in less than 10 hours, so i should probably head to bed. Here's hoping for less coughing. heh.
Ok so there's nothing more annoying than lingering snow and ice... Snow initially is fun, its pretty to watch it fall and its pretty when there's a blanket of snow over everything... but once it gets messy and icy its just not fun anymore.
so i can on this happy day confirm that it's all gone =) and it's blue skies and sunny outside... =)
I'm not 100% at the moment... seem to be developing some sort of cold thingy... been trying to take it a bit easier over the past couple of days... but then woke up this morning with a rather squeaky voice. Put it this way, Abbie seemed rather confused and unable to understand me that well lol. Seems not so bad now tho..
anyway - got Bible study with a friend later... so i'm intending to do some housework, if i can gather the energy.
Man I really need to get back into the habit of regularly blogging. I've wanting to blog about a few things recently and just haven't had the time to do so... oh well. But today i'm entering into my 3rd day of feeling rather rotten as a result of a horrible cold i currently have =( So i guess I have some free time now XP
We were at Frenzy on Saturday (Christian Music fesitival in edinburgh) - It was amazing as always and all of the yp that was with me really enjoyed it! I haven't uploaded my pics yet... so perhaps I'll update again later once i have.
oooo and i got this today - defo made me smile *grins* My dad, and pooch are soooo talented ;-) *hehehe*
For those of you who are unaware... Third Day are a very good Christian band from the states... really good songs... some of which you will probably have heard... like 'your love oh Lord' or 'God of wonders'... both great songs *grins* - been waiting for them to come over for aaaaaaaaaages... They were at the first Frenzy... very good *grins*
Anyway - the exciting thing is that they are coming to Glasgow in May *grins* - third day concert here i come!!!!
That aside... i'm feeling rather rotten today... heads really sore... chest a bit sore... perhaps i am coming down with something... hopefully not though...
well... yesterday morning i had a lovely (not) visit to Gartnavel Hospital... I was visiting the Electrophysiology department in the opthamology institute (my doesn't it sound technical)... had a couple of tests... first one was basically measure the speed of the electrical impulse in my brain from the front to the back of my head... although more specifically it was measuring how long it took for it to get from my eye, along my optic nerve and to the back of the head where your sight stuffs are translated by the brain... The test basically involved 5 electrodes being attacked to my head, 2 at the front, and 3 at the back (ick to minging gel stuff) and then me sitting 1 metre away from a computer screen, focusing on the red cross in the middle of the screen which was at the centre of a screen full of black and white squares which alternated giving a major flashing effect... left eye done first, then right... was quite disorienting actually... didn't hurt, but not particularly pleasant either... then the second test involved 3 electrodes (but different ones) on my forehead, and then 2 special electrodes which, believe it or not actually had very fine thread type stuff which was put under my lower eyelids, yes i did just say UNDER... *heh* not overly comfortable i have to say but fine i guess... I had already had drops put in my eyes to dilate my pupils *woop* i love looking at my eyes in the mirror when my pupils are huge, it's dead funny! Anyway, this time it was same kind of thing as before, only i was 12 inches away from a big screen which was being projected onto, and it was a green cross with flashing hexagons... that one was quite draining actually coz it was 30 seconds on, 30 seconds off for 8 mins *ick* was ok though i guess... Basically it was mapping the back of my retinas *heh* the lady was quite funny... "oooh i'm getting beautiful results here Linda, just beautiful" - LOL....
My friend Mags had taken me and she had come through with me, so i'm sure it was an education for her *hehe*... The lady person said that apparently the tests were normal... so if i have had an inflammed optic nerve, it isn't anymore and has left no damage, which is good. However, seeing that it's been the main thought of the docs to date that this it what has been causing my headaches and eye pain i'm not overjoyed by the clear results... Means i'm back to square one... well not really, i guess i have a head scan coming up... although it does kinda make me a bit more apprehensive about that now...
Anyway - i'm not sure if yesterday morning and excessive flashing screens are to blame, but my head has been soooo much worse... ended up in bed yesterday afternoon... iain has now convinced me that perhaps we have reached a point where the kirk session etc should be told that i'm struggling with health so that the pressure is off me a bit... As i explained to him the other day, i have not allowed my health issues to affect my work over the last 8 months... but as i'm being weened off my pills i can see this becoming more of an issue which is rather annoying... grrrrrrr. oh well.
