back.
Sorry it's take me so long to update... been a bit busy 'n partly just lazy... oh yes and we did end up totally replacing the hard drive on my laptop... and i bought myself a new external drive, which is now set to synchronise every so often to back everything up - is great *grin*

not much esle to say... church stuff is going ok... getting a bit crazy again though... I'm getting to the stage that i'm REALLY looking forward to going on holiday soon... 2 weeks today in fact... by now i'll be on the plane to America, having stopped over in Amsterdam for a few hours *grin* Really need to get myself sorted though... make sure i've got everything washed and ready 'n case sorted 'n money of course... i'll need to figure out how much i wanna take and get it changed... mum's got passport, so that's sorted... they didn't trust me to remember it on the day *lol* charming...

also came across some AWESOME satilite pics on google maps yesterday... i got it so that i could actually SEE epcot from the air!!! was awesome... was gonna show mum etc but Phil couldn't get it to work!!! will maybe try it again at the weekend and see if dad can get it to work... maybe have a play around with my isight camera too - not used it in a while...

Didie ill again... waiting on tests... *watch this space*

other than that not much is happening.... chilling out with some friends this weekend though as a 'post-going-back-to-college' 'party' lol... ah it's all good... only got one full week before college starts back... is sorta pants, but what can you do?! Just think - this time next year i'll be working,.... somewhere...

back to the land of the living...
NYA was fabby this weekend... as challenging, controversial, and yet in some ways spiritual... was also a great social weekend and was extremely relaxed... was fabby.

not gonna write a huge post on it just now though - mostly coz i just can't be bothered... you never know though, you may get a very deep thinking post some time in the near future coz there's a few things bothering me about the weekend and somethings that folks have said to me since...

but that aside, got back from NYA on Monday night and me and heather headed straight to work...was wrecked by the time i got home! was good though... slept most of yesterday to try and catch up on my sleep (had slept only about 10 hours over 3 nights at the weekend!!) and had an easy day before heading off to work last night. Inspired and the Youth Band were doing a demo for the Junior GB which was fun *hehe* and then i headed back here 'n crashed again. Watched ER till late though *oops*

but yeah, my laptop died again this morning... think dad and i are going to give up on it this time and just replace the harddrive which sorta sucks coz it means that for the rest of the weekend i'll be stuck installing software and stuff onto it in order to get it back to normal. *blah*

but yeh... whatever. but tonight should be fun - am going to see the African Children's Choir at Findlay Memorial Church with some friends - I reckon it'll be great!!! Really need to go and get me some cash though... used my last fiver to get washing tokens this morning, which incidentally i still need to use... man i'm just being sooooo lazy!!! *lol*

but yeah... dad has fixed my laptop for the time being *grin* so it's all good... but i just thought i should update before i head off for the weekend...

*cry*
well it seems, that is has now officially happened...

I come online to share the sad news that my laptop, mac, has now died. His hard drive just doesn't seem to be working at all, and since around 5pm last night I have been unable to revive him in any sense at all. The machine itself is still in good working order, so it is hoped that i'll be able to send him away and get him back working again after the probable replacement of his 'heart' though this will have to be confirmed... and is likely to be an extremely expensive process... but unfortunately necessary as I use my laptop constantly for work amd college as well as leisure.

Currently i'm sitting at a scaffy pc in the youth min room which is chronically slow, has a dumpy keyboard and doesn't even display the 'floating' pictures above properly... it's a sad day... Well i just hope and pray that i have my wee computer back and with a full bill of health by the time i start back classes in October... otherwise this year could be a bumpy ride *blah*

Anyway... off to do some work... just because i don't have a working laptop anymore doesn't mean to say all work stops... just means i have to use this scaffy computer instead AND make sure i've done everything i need to do by 5pm in order to be sure that i don't get locked in/locked out of the youth min room... ach i miss my computer already *cries*

oh the happiness of convenience!!! *lol*

the wonders of technology *blah*
*yawn* - am very tired....

but yeah it's been a good couple of days... Phil has been here which is always fun *grin* we headed into the west end after a lazy morning yesterday afternoon and the band spent most of the afternoon practicing - which was most fun *hehe* i just spent most of my time talking to michie 'n billy 'n the girls 'n singing along *hehe*... phil was so funny on the drums... i know i'm bias, but i do enjoy hearing him playing drums for worship bands *grin*
but, yeah we had pizza for dinner - was good.
and of course the service was great... worship was great... phil w's talk was fabby, reflection and response was kl and the ceildih rocked *grin* never did get a dance with Kenny *hehe* but the hat dance was insane... and i'm still at a loss as to how Lauren managed to run me around the room by my 3 fingers without breaking them or letting go *lol* was very fun though!!! *hehe* so yeah, was good to hang out with folks again and generally just to have a social night out for a bit...
heading back was funny - phil kept tripping over/walking into stuff coz he wasn't watching where he was going *hehe* - you're think he'd learn *lol*.
annnnnnnyway - after eventually getting to sleep last night... then eventually managaing to drag myself out of bed this morning (that was sooooooo hard) we headed off to church... not before of course opening my computer to find that it had crashed, and that it was doing the whole 'i'm not gonna work' thing again *grrr* but i was like 'whatever' and i decided to take it for the stuff at church anyway (knowing that i had arranged for a backup laptop to be there anyway) and thought that perhaps it would do as it did last time and work again when we tried at church - it did!! *lol* but then we had fun with the projector... plugged it in, but it wasn't getting any power at all... so this was the thought process...
1 --> check that it's not the socket (swapped it with the laptop plug) and so no it wasn't the socket...
2 --> when that failed i decided that it may be either the actual machine or the power cable... by this point i had alerted Iain to the problem especially seeing as i don't know anything about fuses *rolls eyes*... so Harvey checked the fuse and it wasn't that... so we went on the hunt for another kettle plug since we wanted to see if it WAS the cable... Iain found an extra plug in the kitchen... it worked, therefore leading us to the conclusion that it was indeed the original power cable. BUT the cable he had got from the kitchen was mega short, so harvey got us an extension lead... we thought all was well... sorry but no.
3 --> was just writing up the words for 'Our God is a great big God' when i smelt burning (by this time it's like 11:05am - service starts at 11:15am *eeeeeeeeek*) and it was the cable!!!! sooooooooooooooooo glad i caught it!!!!! so it was the wee short cable, so Iain got Harvey to find another more suitable *cough* cable and when that arrived all was well...
*phew*
Great big God went down relatively well... Lauren 'n Pamela helped me while Phil did the powerpoint for the words and Geo made sure the sound was ok (did it along to a CD)... then the girls spoke about mission with Iain in front of the congregation... firstly about what they were feeling on the run up to mission followed by the DVD and then what they were taking away from mission etc... they spoke really well - was well pleased!!! *grin* then Phil and i made a bee line to dismantle the laptop 'n projector and take it through to set up for the bible class... which Andy was speaking about his mission work in Tunzania in the summer which again was good.
Madness - but a good morning none the less... and more amazing was the fact that i was totally keeping my cool throughout it all even when everything kept breaking etc.

Then Phil 'n I headed back into the centre and went to Tiso's for lunch *yummmmmmmmm* and then we came back here 'n i managed to get highest bid on ebay for a new pair of brand new chucks!!! £21 - a bargin i tell ya!!!! *grin* just a nice simple pair... *grin* so yeah - between that and discussions with my dad about this computer and it's 'tantrums' it was a busy afternoon... Paypal is a pain to register for btw - a total pain in the butt!!!! but yeah... joy.

After that i dropped Phil off at the bus station for his trip back north and then headed from there to B'briggs where i headed off to Geo's and Sheena's for a catch up... was kl. then evening service which was good tonight... about Abram... God's faithfulness 'n stuff... was good.
and then i basically got back here 'n collapsed. and when i checked my computer it had frozen again, luckily it restarted without being too awkward this time though!!!!! anyyyyyyyyyway... v tired. ach. bedtime me thinks.

The miraculously healing computer..
woke up this morning to have a big scare... my laptop, which i had shut down last night, wouldn't switch on this morning... or at least it did, but it couldn't start up OS X and when i put the start up disc in and run the disc utility it couldn't even SEE the hard drive... this was NOT good. Many tears were shed and prayers said... coz not only is my laptop an expensive piece of gear and one which i regularly use, but it is also a primary part of my ministry... doh.

so anyway... Emily and I headed off to the West End on foot in search of the Apple Centre... and found after a nice walk... got to the centre... told the guy in the shop what had happened, and he restarted it and it worked fine. *shock* not a problem with it... he even started it up so that you could see all that it was doing and it was like unix or something, and it was fine. Not a problem... was very weird... but am happy coz i still have a working laptop *grin*

so yeah... a little less stressed out now... Phil will be on his way down here soon. Thanksgiving tomorrow, which i'm sure will be a laugh... i was meant to be makin me a t-shirt with lots of mission stuff written on it 'n stuff... but i just haven't had the time, nor the funds to get fabric pens 'n stuff... trying to stop spending!!!!! So yeah. Think i'm gonna chill for the rest of the afternoon now...
