Get ready for some back-log blogging... |
Ok so i've not blogged in ages. Partly coz i've just been too busy... partly because the times i've had something to share i've not had access to the computer or just forgotten/been to busy to update with it...
So just now i'm currently transfering pics etc from my phone, so you never know, perhaps you'll get some stuff from that. =)
BUt for now things are gd. Was back home last weekend at Kemany for Pentecost in the Park. Surprised my family which is always fun, but i managed to get the weekend off work and it seemed like too good an opportunity to miss.
For those of you who don't know what Pentecost in the Park is... Basically my home church run a weekend long event at their church and also in a Marquee in the local park which is open to all and includes stuff from coffee morning type stuff, to services with speakers, youth events, childrens events and loads more. Tis good fun. But the thing that makes it special for me is that the last time this happened 10 years ago in the year 2000, I was baptised during the morning service at it. The day after my 16th birthday. Man I feel old. But ye, so it was special, but it was mostly special to just be able to go back and be a part of my church family back there and just be able to muck in and work alongside folks that i've not been able to do that with for the past 7 years.
and really, to be honest, God is good, and that's really what matters =)Labels: blogging., home, kemnay, Pentecost in the Park |

Home for the holidays... |
So next.... after a full on week of bible study with the young ones I headed home for a week... it was soooo nice to be home 'n relax a wee bit.
There was a lot of relaxation, but it went far too quickly if i'm honest! LOL.
On the Saturday we went up north to see my grandparents and cousins and had a bbq - was soooo much fun XD good banter as always! I decided that it was like having CHristmas dinner in Australia coz we were out the back in the blazing sun, with our Santa clause table cloth LOL - we even played giant ludo in the evening on the grass!!!!! (and the youngest person - ruth - is almost 23 LOL) but it was good fun - good banter...
we also had grandma 'n granda down in Kemnay one day which was fab! and we managed to catch a great snap of them both with the 2 dogs!!! First time that both of the dogs have wanted up to their laps at the same time - was very sweet lol!!
But aye - all in all a good trip home catching up with folk but also catching a chance to sleep... lots...! XPLabels: home |

an interestind day... |
Well today has been rather interesting. Not has productive as one would have perhaps hoped. Meant to be sorting out the bible study for the reunion on saturday and thus far struggling to settle on one passage.... i dunno - too tired to do anything more about it tonight - need to have sorted it out before I got out to TTNP tomorrow night though!
But yes.. certainly not a dull day... Listened to a good sermon on my ipod while out with abbie this afternoon for a long walk... was lovely... and an interesting sermon too. had the Jehovah Witnesses at the door... had a lovely chat with them. First time i've ever seen JW's down here actually - wouldn't even have a clue where the nearest Kingdom Hall was... Was kinda amusing tho - i'm convinced the lady was asking me certain questions about my faith just to make sure that i really was a christian and not just saying that i was to get them to go away or something LOL. But i made my beliefs (as different as they were from hers) very clear... but it wasn't confrontational, and no i didn't get my own bible out and try to envangelise them out of their own faith. And it seems that it was the right thing to do, simply from the last thing the lady said "well its been lovely just being able to chat with you and not argue about different parts of faith" - and it was. Maybe one day she'll see the light... But somehow today was perhaps just the beginning for her... Its in God's hands. That aside i was also at Christianity Explored tonight - was good as usual... although i figured out that although there are another 4 weeks I'm only going to make it to 1 of them due to 2 meetings and being at home for a week too... am looking forward to going home... BTW mum, all i plan to do is sleep! Hope thats ok ;-)Labels: Christianity Explored, Faith, home, Jehovah Witness', Troon |

Back in Glasgow... |
Well thats me back in Glasgow... Arrived to various packages 'hiding' under my front door mat which ammused me somewhat... I wonder how long they've been lying there... *heh* One of them was one of the packages which has been sent again by Amazon coz the Royal Mail is pants and 3 of my packages have walked in the post. Should have arrived 2-3 weeks ago and haven't. And one of them was a 'sign for' package which seems to have completely disappeared. See... Royal Mail is rubbish. Someone said to me the other day that the Royal Mail has no right to have the word 'Royal' in the title. I think I agree. It's just been one thing after another with them for me recently - the rubber bands lying all over the streets aside.
Anyway - people have been asking me for a 'wish' list... so here is something along that lines....
All 'boring' things I'm afraid... + itunes voucher (I tend to download random singles a lot - so that would be practical) + ooo - going through a CSI phase at the moment - so CSI DVDs would be welcome. (Currently borrowing a friends season 2 - so not that one please) + one of those wee cheap dvd players for my room... + Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix - have been holding off getting that coz i thought it would be an easy pressie for someone to get me *wink* + one of those big Laundry hamper things. I've thought about getting one from au naturale but never have a car, so that would be pretty difficult to get home. Would just be useful coz i only tend to put the washing machine on once a week and Abbz has had a tendancy to nick socks etc out of my existing little basket (although she's not doing that so much anymore - but it would be useful none the less) + Leona Lewis' new album would be nice... + I'd love to get myself a new pair of trainers - but i guess thats more of a money, then i'll get them kind of thing *lol*
*hehe* well those are just some thoughts since folks keep asking. So yeh. there ya go.
Anyway - Abbz was very sleepy again tonight - i think having a few days running about with Hollie has obviously tired her out *lol* have tried putting her bed in the hall though - hoping that it will be a wee bit warmer for her so that she's not gonna be whinning in the middle of the night [FYI mum, i've put my clothes bag (which i haven't emptied yet *heh*) against the door so that she can't body flop against the door to get through in the middle of the night *hehe*]
But yeh... it was a good few days at home. Was meant to catch up on paperwork, but it was much better just kicking back and catching up with family. Highlight was defo hanging out with my Grandma and Granda on my Grandma's birthday yesterday *grins* we ate out twice! *lol* and I went for visit my great aunt Annie too, and saw my cousins for a wee while too. So that was nice. Am looking forward to getting back in a couple of weeks for my proper 2 week break for Christmas *grins* 24 sleeps!!!!!!!!! *grins* (aye till Christmas, not till i get home *wink*)
Anyway - I've done all of my prep for tomorrow morning. We're looking at David 'n Johnothan, and the whole theme of friendship. Should be good. I'm working with the younger ones, so nothing toooo heavy *grins*. Am doing Anathallo tomorrow night too. I haven't finished my prep for that yet... But the thoughts are all coming together in my head. It's on Discernment tomorrow night. As you may have guessed Anathallo is a bit more indepth *wink* It'll be interesting though. Have got a film clip in mind which will hopefully get the discussion flowing. It'll be a good conclusion to our term as we've been looking at various Christian life issues surrounding the image of the 3 legged stool. (the 3 legs of good Christian living being, Fellowship - being with other Christians, learning together etc - the Bible - reading it, getting to know it, trying to understand it and apply it to our lives - and Prayer - getting to know God and making sure your relationship is good with Him. All good and important parts to 'succesfull' Christian living. So hopefully it'll go well and will continue to help the young people - all sorted. The great thing about Anathallo is that it allows for accountablity for the young people without being overbearing. It's good.
Anyway - it's late, and i'll be up early walking the pooch before church, so i should head off...
g'nite xLabels: 3-legged-stool, Abbie, Anathallo, bible class, home, royal mail |

Rest and relaxation... well kinda. |
well i came back up north to kemnay last thursday. It's been nice being here and relaxing a bit... been a bit busy though. Lots going on. Plus Abbie was reunited with her sister Hollie which was really funny, coz they play fight lots and run around lots. She's abosultely knackered a lot of the time! *lol* But yeh, we were house/dog sitting with my grandparents for my sister yesterday coz there was a workman in laying a wooden floor for them in their living room, it's really nice! Was fun hanging out with Granma and Granda too *grins* Also been to the AoG picnic, caught up with some folk there, abbie had a great time and must have met every child under the age of 11 twice over if not more... was fun though.
And all this fun and happiness in amongst all the terrible things that have been happening in London and Glasgow. So harsh. In some ways i'd love to know what it is that leads these individuals to do such horrific and terrible things! I don't think that violence is necessarily the answer to any frustration, or whatever it is thats leading them to behave the way they do. It sickens me to think that someone can feel achievement from blowing up as many innocent civillians as possible.Labels: home, puppies, terrorism |
